99designs.com : 99designs is the world's leading design contest marketplace, powered by a massive community of designers and business owners.


Account : An arrangement by which a user is given personalized access to a computer, website, or application, typically by entering a username and password.


Analysis : Detailed examination of the elements or structure of something.


Bank : A financial establishment that uses money deposited by customers for investment, pays it out when required, makes loans at interest, and exchanges currency.


Banned : Officially prevent (someone) from doing something.


Bidding on projects : Reverse Auction (Reverse Bidding) is the principle behind Project Bidding on a freelance bidding site. A client will post a project on a website, then relevant freelancers will bid for the project, write a proposal to persuade the client into choosing him/her over the others. The client will review freelancers’ proposals, portfolios, profiles, reviews and ratings, etc. to decide who gets the project.


Brand : A type of product manufactured by a particular company under a particular name.


Calculate hours : The time spent to complete the project, used to calculate the pay for the job.


Career : An occupation undertaken for a significant period of a person's life and with opportunities for progress.


Centric : Central point





Charge : A price for a service rendered


Communication skill : The ability to communicate information accurately, clearly and as intended, such as Speaking and Listening.


Concise approach : The more abstract concept of an idea or a project.


Craigslist : Craigslist is an American classified advertisements website with sections devoted to jobs, housing, for sale, items wanted, services, community, gigs, résumés, and discussion forums.


Description of project : A set of goals for the project, the overall objectives for the project, as well as a project plan that describes the activities of the people involved will undertake.


Determining authentic project : Checking if the project is fake or real.


Dispute : Argument or disagreement, an official one between a freelancer and an employer


Domain : Area of interest, e.g., skill or service offered.


Email usage : A method of exchanging messages ("mail") between people using electronic devices, through computers or mobile devices.


Emphasis : Special importance, value, or prominence given to something.




Facebook : An online Social Network to connect with friends, family and other people you know. Share photos and videos, send messages and get updates.


FBR : The Federal Board of Revenue is a top federal government body that investigates crimes related to taxation and money-laundering.


First response : The first answer a freelancer gets from a prospect employer on a project he has bid on.


Fiverr.com : Fiverr is the world's largest freelance services marketplace for lean entrepreneurs to focus on growth & create a successful business at affordable costs.


Foreign remittance : Transfer of money from a foreign worker to their family or other individuals in their home countries.


Free mockup : A free mockup is a free design sample offered by a freelancer to a potential client.


Freelancer.com : Freelancer is a global crowd sourcing marketplace website, which allows potential employers to post jobs that freelancers can then bid to complete.


Freelancing : A person who is self-employed and is not necessarily committed to a particular employer long-term.


GIG : A service offered on Fiverr is called a Gig.


Goals : Targets set for an achievement.






Guru.com : Guru.com is a freelance marketplace. It allows companies to find freelance workers for commissioned work.


High priced projects : High value Projects.


Hosting : A web host, or web hosting service provider, is a business that provides the technologies and services needed for the website or webpage to be viewed on the Internet. Websites are hosted, or stored, on special computers called servers.


IBAN : IBAN stands for International Bank Account Number, which you can use when making or receiving international payments. Your IBAN doesn't replace your sort code & account number - it's an additional number with extra information to help overseas banks identify your account for payments.


Keyword : A Keyword is a word or phrase - typically a phrase of two or more words. Keywords are used when someone search something on internet. Keyword reflects the major aspects of a search query. More number of keyword will generate more specific search results.


Killer proposal : Irresistible offer made to attract a potential employer.


Knowledge : Facts, information, and skills acquired through experience or education; the theoretical or practical understanding of a subject.


Learning : Learning is the process of acquiring new or modifying existing knowledge, behaviors, skills, values, or preferences.


Limited : Term used at the end of a company name, in order to indicate that it is a limited company. Abbreviated Ltd.


LinkedIn : LinkedIn is a social network for the business/professionals community.





Live : Website/service available online on the internet by some web service/host.


Location : A particular place or position.


Logo : A symbol or other small design adopted by an organization to identify its products, uniform, vehicles, etc.


Low productivity : Low productivity in the workplace refers to a condition where one or more workers complete tasks, processes, production or sales inefficiently.


Making Money : Earning cash against a service offered (job or business).


Manage project : A methodical approach to planning and guiding project processes from conception to completion.


Marketing : The study and management of exchange relationships. Marketing is used to create, keep and satisfy the customers.


Mastering a skill : Understanding and executing a skill with high efficiency, performance and productivity.


Niche : The product features aimed at satisfying specific market needs, as well as the price range, production quality and the demographics that is intended to impact.


Outsourcing : Outsourcing is a business practice in which certain functions required by the business are performed by outside parties on a contract basis rather than the business’s employees.






Peopleperhour.com : PeoplePerHour is a freelance market composed of people who are experts in their fields.


PMB : A PMB is the place for you to communicate with your employer/freelancer on an online platform.


Pricing a project : Project Pricing means a model in which you are going to estimate costs of the project, appraise its monetary worth, and bill for the project.


Project analysis : The examination of all the costs or problems of a project before work is started.


Project Evaluation : Project evaluation is a systematic and objective assessment of an ongoing or completed project.


Project milestone : A milestone is a specific point in time within a project lifecycle used to measure the progress of a project toward its ultimate goal. Milestones help you break up a long-reaching job into smaller pieces that a freelancer can accomplish one at a time.


Quality bid : Aims to help quality freelancers to win more projects per bid, by giving feedback to freelancers who may be making too many low quality bids.


Remittance : Transfer of money by a foreign worker to an individual in his or her home country.


Resources : Resources are materials, energy, services, staff, knowledge, or other assets that are transformed to produce benefit and in the process may be consumed or made unavailable.


Saving on bills : Ways to save money on business cost.






Self Confidence : The belief in oneself and abilities, it describes an internal state made up of what we think and feel about ourselves.


SimplyHired.com : SimplyHired is an employment website and mobile application and an online recruitment advertising network.


Soft Skills : Soft Skills refer to the more intangible and non-technical abilities that are sought from candidates. Soft skills are sometimes referred to as transferable skills or professional skills. These are skills that are less specialized, less rooted in specific vocations, and more aligned with the general disposition and personality of a candidate. Examples of important soft skills are communication, teamwork and problem solving.


Software : Software is a general term for the various kinds of programs used to operate computers and related devices.


Speed of response : The time required for a system or person to react to some signal. In freelancing, it is referred to the time taken by a freelancer to respond to a client for an enquiry.


Timeline : A timeline is a display of a list of events in chronological order.


Tracking : The application of knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to a broad range of activities in order to meet the requirements of a particular project.


Un-Orthodox : Different from what is usual or expected in behavior, ideas, methods, etc.


Work load : Amount of work or number of work units assigned to a particular resource over a given period.
